The construction enterprises Gomes Lourenço, company operating since 1961 in the civil construction, with the expertise acquired in the building of hydroelectric plants, decided in 2006 to start it activities as independent generator of energy, creating an Holding with the objective of consolidate their projects and participations. That’s the way the GLEP was born.

 In October of 2008, GLEP received capital contribution from the Fund Latin Power III, administrated by Conduit Capital Partners, LLC, based in New York, company of investments of private capital focused toward the sector of electric energy in the Latin America countries and the Caribbean, extending this way their investment capacity. Beyond the enterprises in implantation phase that totalize 46MW, finished until approximately 2010, the GLEP has a profile of projects in many stages of development, totalizing 365MW of installed power, to be implanted until 2014.
